Writing a Professional Email
This gamified, e-learning course was designed for learners to explain the simple steps for writing a professional email.
Tools Used: Articulate Storyline, Freepik, Microsoft Whiteboard
Process: A course was requested for explaining to learners how to write a professional email. The stakeholders were looking for an exciting way to present this content. My audience for this course was for new hires. After discussions with the stakeholders, I created performance based objectives for this course. I knew that the stakeholders wanted something different for this course, so I had many brainstorming sessions and used Microsoft Whiteboard to gather my thoughts. A retro video game was decided upon as a way to engage the learners, but also have them learn the steps for writing a professional email. I used Articulate Storyline for programming and used Freepik for many of my images and music. I used a name variable in this course to personalize it for the learner, and they also had three characters they could choose from. When programming the course, I used motion path animations, which allowed to the course to mimic playing a video game. The original course had three levels, but the preview you see here shows the first level for you. Stakeholders and learners loved the creativity of the project and couldn't wait to roll it out to the new hires.
